Hot tub hook-ups and repairs in Evergreen.
A dedicated 240-volt circuit, GFCI protection and a disconnect in sight of the tub, wired by family electricians.
A hot tub is one of the bigger loads a house carries, and it sits outside in the snow. Total Electric runs the circuit, sets the disconnect and connects the tub, and fixes the electrical side when an older tub stops working.
What a 240-volt tub needs
Most full-size tubs run on a dedicated 240-volt circuit from the panel, protected by a GFCI breaker or GFCI disconnect. Code calls for a disconnect within sight of the tub and at least 5 feet from its inside wall, so someone can shut it off without reaching over the water.
Getting power to the tub
The circuit usually runs underground from the house or garage to the pad. Trenching and underground lines are part of the work, and so is finding a break in an old buried line.
Repairs before winter
A tub that keeps tripping its GFCI, won't heat, or lost power after a storm has an electrical fault somewhere: the heater, a pump, the wiring or the breaker. One customer called in the fall to get theirs fixed before winter; the crew found the problem and fixed it the same visit.

Questions about this job.
Straight answers to what people ask most. Anything else, call (303) 670-6561.
Do I need a new circuit for a new hot tub?
A full-size 240-volt tub needs its own circuit. Small plug-in tubs use a GFCI outlet instead. The tub's label or manual says which yours is.
Where does the disconnect go?
Within sight of the tub and at least 5 feet from its inside wall, so it can be shut off without reaching over the water.
My tub keeps tripping the GFCI. Can you fix it?
Yes. The trip usually points to a fault in the heater, pump, wiring or the breaker itself. The crew tracks down which one.
Can you run power underground to the tub?
Yes. Trenched lines to the pad are part of the job, and so is finding breaks in old buried lines.
