Total Electric is Brent McBride and his sons Spencer and Garrett, the third and fourth generations of electricians in the family. Lighting, panels, hot tubs, EV chargers and generators, from Idaho Springs to Bailey.
Evergreen, Colorado
Brent McBride grew up in Evergreen and became the third electrician in his family. Total Electric is his company. His sons Spencer and Garrett, the fourth generation, now run it day to day.
Most of the work comes from neighbors who called once and kept calling; by the company's own count, repeat customers make up 90 percent of it. The jobs run from a GFCI that won't reset to a chandelier hung from scaffolding two stories up.
Pick a breaker to see the work behind it. Everyday 120-volt circuits sit on single breakers; 240-volt work like hot tubs, chargers and generators takes a 2-pole breaker, just like the panel in your garage.
Odd circuits left, even right. Two-slot breakers are 240-volt.
